Today, I want to show you how to pay for Facebook ads in Kenya. There are two ways to do that. One, through a bank card, and the second one is through MPESA – PayPal.
Truth is, I haven’t used PayPal, so I won’t delve into it, but as soon as I have an experience with, I will update you with the details.
Also, there is a reason why I am yet to use PayPal.
See, running Facebook ads can be a little challenging especially when it comes to payments. I can’t tell you how many people get their accounts banned or restricted because of a small issue with their payment methods.

PayPal has to be one of the most strict payment methods I have ever seen. For example, if you’ve never used it before, there is a limit to how much funds you can transfer. Failure to do so, you risk getting banned and your money being held hostage for at least 180 days.
Yes, it has happened to me.
Solution?
I always use bank cards; either credit cards or debit cards. Well, I don’t own any credit card (but some of my clients do), so I prefer a debit card (ATM card).
If you have a bank account there is a high chance you already own a debit card. With that, all you have to do is add it to your Facebook ad account as a payment method.
Here is how:
How to pay for Facebook Ads in Kenya
Here, I will be showing you how to add a bank card to your Facebook ad account. Also, you can use the same process to add PayPal if that’s your preferred method.
Step #1: Login into the Facebook account.
You need to be logged in to your Facebook account that is attached to the page you’d normally run ads on. I know you have more than one accounts, so use the one with admin rights to the page.
Step #2: Click on Create Ads
Once logged in, locate the (+) button on the top right corner of your screen. See the screenshot below for help.

This is where you get to manage everything about your ad campaigns. Also, use this same button every time you want to create a new ad. Better yet, bookmark the page for quick access whenever you need it.
Ready for the next step?
Step #3: Open Business Tools tab
On your right, there is a business tools tab. Click on it.
This gives you several options.
Click on Billing.
As you can see, there are two of them, but all lead to one destination.
Step #4: Payment Settings
Tab on Payment Settings.
You should see a window like the one below.
Click on Add Payment Method.
